Culture & Culture recently ran a couple of tours of specialist cheese shop, Paxton & Whitfield in London. The attendees enjoyed some beautiful British artisan cheese in perfect condition and informative / witty cheese talk there. Holding these events at the shops allowed the participants to feel directly the long history, deep culture and real craftsmanship of the cheese world at the shop. The Japanese newcomers to the UK are keen to get exposure to British culinary culture and we believe the world of cheese would be a good start. We are very pleased to have managed to open the door to the world of real farmhouse cheese in the UK for Japanese people living in the UK and hopefully they are going to even more enjoy their new life in the UK through cheese! There will be a further tour planned in early autumn and we will let you know the details in due course.
6月に開催したチーズ専門店ツアー、Paxton & Whitfield編。参加者の皆様にイギリスのアルチザンチーズの世界を肌で感じて頂きました。さすが王室ご用達のチーズ専門店。テイスティングのチーズの状態もトークも最上級。さらに、イギリスならではのチーズの世界の歴史、文化の面での奥深さ、さらに職人魂など、講座やチーズイベントではなかなかお伝えできないことを直に感じて頂ける場を作ることができ、とても嬉しく思っています。お店のスタッフのトークにはちょっとしたイギリス人らしいシニカルなジョークとイギリス人のプライドもチラホラ。参加してくださった皆様のこれからのイギリスライフがチーズを通してもっと楽しくなればいいなぁと願ってやみません。次回は初秋に開催予定です。
